Palmfat S100

A rumen bypass fat delivering high levels of energy to maximise milk production and to improve energy intake at vital times such as early lactation and to help maintain condition through to mating.
PalmFat S100 is a free flowing dry granule.

PalmFat S100 can be easily included into commercially formulated feed for dairy cattle as it is readily palletized. PalmFat S100 can also be blended through a total mixed ration (TMR), in the farm’s own feed mix.

Advantages of using a PalmFat S100:
• No interference with rumen function and subsequent fibre degradation (due to the rumen bypass feature)
• Small inclusions allow for significant responses in energy intake and subsequent milk yield without causing feed substitution due to the energy density.
• Small inclusions can (more efficiently) replace a larger amount of starch for the same energy value, reducing the potential problems related to acidosis (if grain is introduced too quickly)
• More palatable than ‘calcium soap’ fats; contain more energy and are better protected in the rumen.

PalmFat S100 is a rumen bypass fat for ruminants made from fractionated palm fat without trans fatty acids. It is rich in C16 (Palmitic Acid). As a triglyceride, it contains the natural percentage of glycerol. PalmFat S100 is not saponified and hence all the energy content of the fats are fully utilised. Palmitic acid has been scientifically proven to increase milk fat percentage and yields of milk. It will have no detrimental effect on the Fat Evaluation Index (FEI) values of your milk collection.
Fats are the most energy dense feed ingredient available – producing the most energy per kilogram (37.7 MJ/kg compared to carbohydrate at 16.7 MJ/kg). Feeding C16 (Palmitic Acid) to lactating cows has been proven to increase milk production.

FEEDING RECOMMENDATIONS

150-300g per head per day for lactating dairy cows, particularly during the early months of lactation when energy requirements are at their greatest. Saturated fats can be fed at up to 3% of total DM diet. PalmFat S100 can be easily included into commercially formulated feed for dairy cattle as it is readily palletized. PalmFat S100 can also be fed to cows directly in the TMR, in the farm’s own feed mix.
